Chasing A Dream: Finding a California Home

Everything has happened so … fast.  Well, it seems that way, anyhow.  So it’s time to find a place to live… because we plan to be there in three to four weeks.  My friend, Keith Collier, has been kind enough to check out some locations for us, and he so highly recommends one mobile home community that I am quite sure it’s where we’ll end up.  Whittier Downs Mobile Home Community has been a family-owned park for at least two generations, and all the homes are well kept.  The park has numerous amenities, and is close to everything:  grocery stores, drug stores, the interstate, and is well located.  I’m READY.  Except they currently have NO homes available.  The two I was watching online had sold, so we’re actually waiting for something to come available there.  Y’all click on the link above and take a look at the photos of that park, I think you’ll love it almost as much as I do!

Temporary Housing

So now we’re looking at short-term rentals close to Hollywood… and I’ve emailed several people about their Craigslist postings.  There are sublets and rooms for rent on an estate (that is a GORGEOUS property, by the way).  I am so excited about the possibilities and potential,  I feel like a little kid.  You know how they get the night before Christmas or their birthday, all jittery and chattering?  Well, that’s me.

Today’s Meditation Was On Radiating Happiness

I’m doing a 21-day meditation program with Deepak Chopra, and though I haven’t been able to do it absolutely EVERY day, I’m working hard to fit it into my schedule.  I think it provides for better mental and physical health.  And my today’s meditation (because I’m behind) was on Happiness.  The centering thought was “I radiate happiness and generosity of spirit,” and the mantra was “I express my happiness into the world.”  The lesson discussed how happiness is contagious, and when one radiates happiness, you affect people around you, even when you’re not aware of it.  I actually believe that’s true.  I’ve found that just seeing people whose very presence radiates joy is truly uplifting for me.  So… “I express my happiness into the world.”  I just love being happy!

Question for You to Answer:  What’s the Happiest You’ve Ever Been?

I expect an answer to that question, folks… I want to know.   As I think back to my happiest times, many of them had to do with my daughter:  when I found out I was pregnant, the first time I heard her heartbeat, when she walked after the doctors predicted it wouldn’t happen (boy! Did I almost burst with pride that day!).  My first happiest time was in the fifth grade when I won second place in the Cheatham County Spelling Contest (beat out only by an 8th grader named Don Head when I misspelled the word “bureau.”)  I was so proud of myself.  I looked back in the audience when they gave me my ribbon (and $10!) and took my picture for the Ashland City Times and saw my mama, tearful and dabbing her eyes with a kleenex. (That’s where I got my sentimentality from!)

So… today is a happy day.  I radiate happiness and generosity of spirit because I’ve meditated on it to make it true.

Dream Big!  I always do.
